PROTECTING GOD’S CHILDREN PROGRAM:   Attention all new volunteers

If you recently volunteered in any ministry involving working with children or the elderly (i.e. ushers, lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, Rel. Ed. Teachers, Pancake Breakfast worker, etc) or if you recently joined an organization that meets in the school hall during school hours (i.e. school volunteers, Young at Heart Members, Parish Purls, etc.) you are mandated by the Archdiocese of Boston to take this program. St. Bridget’s Parish will be offering two sessions of this program, the first on Thursday, Oct. 4th, 7-10p and the second will be held on Saturday, Oct. 13th, 9a in St. Bridget’s School Hall.  If you have taken this program, you will not need to take it again. To register, please call Maria Cole at the Rectory (508)875-5959.

Junior Achievement - Our school will once again participate in the JA program for grades 4-8 this year.  It is time to send out a "call for volunteers".  If you are not familiar with the program you may visit their website at www.ja.org .  From their website: "Junior Achievement is the world's largest organization dedicated to educating students in grades K-12 about entrepreneurship, work readiness, and financial literacy through experiential, hands-on programs."  In short, we ask volunteer parents to come into classrooms and using a ready made "kit", provided by JA, guide the students through the program.  The teacher stays in the classroom, but the volunteer runs the program.  Parents and students alike have loved the program and the unique opportunity it presents.  To volunteer you do not need any teaching experience just enthusiasm.  The kits have everything you will need.  The time commitment is approximately 30 min prep time and 45 min in the classroom.  The program will start in January and will run 5 weeks for 4th and 5th grade, and 6 weeks for the middle school.  If you are interested in volunteering please contact Mary Ann Sager at masager5@yahoo.com or 508-872-4989 as soon as possible.

Jr. CYO-
The Jr. CYO group will have it's first meeting on Sa.t 10/29th, after the 4;00 Mass.  Jr. CYO is open to all Middle school children, public and private.  We encourage all to join. If you have any questions, please call Erin Walsh (508) 872-7868.

Grocery Card Program:  The Grocery Card Program is up and running again.
If you shop at Stop&Shop, Roche Bros. or Shaws you may purchase gift cards throught Saint Bridget PTO. Sign-up sheets can be found on the school web site under "parent resources".Questions? Contact Linda Generazio lagenerazio@gmail.com  (508)877-7715.

Innisbrook UPDATE
Congratulations to the five students who found the coupons for a Hip Hop Dude in their Innisbrook Catalogs.  There are ten more winning coupons left!  Please have your children check their catalog to see if they have won. This Thursday, September 20 we will hold the first drawing of the Bonus Entry Coupons (found in the Innisbrook packet).  Your child can submit one coupon for every six items sold.  These coupons can be turned in before the final order is submitted.  If you have any questions, please contact either Clare Dykeman or Helena Siciliano. Thank you for your support of this important fundraiser!

To all parents interested in spreading the news about St. Bridget's School....we'd welcome your partipation in the Marketing Committee!  This committee works closely with Mrs. Mungovan to raise awareness of St. Bridget's School within the community and to recruit new students and families.  Our first meeting this year will be on Wednesday, October 10 at 7 pm at the school, and we'd like to welcome new and existing committee members....or anyone who would like to learn more.  If you have any questions, please contact Terrie Pirozzi at terrie_pirozzi@charter.net or 508 481-1399.
