From the Health Office:

·        ATTENTION 7TH GRADE PARENTS: State Law mandates that all children entering 7th grade must have a tetanus booster. This information must be provided to the Health Office no later than Sept. 25, 2009.

·        ATTENTION 4th  GRADE PARENTS:  It is required that all 4th grade students have an up to date physical on file in the nurse’s office.

·        The nurses have gone around to each class to review with the children all they should be doing to protect themselves from airborne viruses. Purell dispensers have been placed at the doors of the cafeteria for those coming in from recess to lunch. Also, teachers will be sanitizing desktops each week.

·        During the Open House evenings scheduled for Sept. 21 (K1-5) and Sept. 22nd (Middle School), the nurses will be giving an update regarding the H1N1 flu.

·        A gentle reminder: We encourage healthy lunches for the children. ”Luncheables”, which contain large amounts of sodium and fat, are not the best choices for the children.

·      Volunteers are needed for Health Screening Days October 5 and 6. Testing will include; HT.,Wt., Vision, Hearing and Posture. Training is available. Please call the nurse’s office. Thank You!

PTO ITEMS:

Thanks to the hard work of our Auction Committee over the summer months, preparations are well under way for our Fall Auction, which remains one of the schools largest fundraisers of the year, as well as the most enjoyable event for parents.  This year the Auction will be held at the Sheraton Tara in Framingham on the evening of Saturday Oct. 17thMark your calendars, and look for your invitation coming home via backpacks next week!  We have some great new additions to this event and there are lots of items that would make great Christmas Gifts.  Why not get a head start on some of your shopping while helping out the school at the same time!

·        Donations: The success of our auction depends on generous donations from businesses and parents who share the common goal of providing our children with an excellent education in the Catholic tradition.   Do you think you can help us out with a donation item or service?  Or maybe you know someone that can help us out.  We are always looking for new and creative Live Auction Items.  No donation or service is too small.  Please return the attached form ASAP as we are working to collect our auction items.  If you have any questions about donations, please contact Kellianne Erath:  Erath@rcn.com (508) 879-8363.

Notes from the Lunch Room: (Hot Lunches begin 9/21)
1)Sandwich lunch-  We will be switching our Sandwich vendor this year from D'Angelo's to The Subway  & Pizza ( who supplies our pizza on Fridays).  They have fantastic sandwiches and the prices will be the same as last year.  Order forms will be coming home today and will be on the website for future ordering.
2)
Lunch Volunteer Meeting-We will have a meeting for all Lunch volunteers on Wed. Sept. 16th @ 1:00p.m. in the school hall. All are welcome.  No need to have signed up previously.  Also, your commitment can be flexible ( weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly). It is a great opportunity to meet and mingle with other parents.
