St. Bridget School is proud to announce that one of our Middle School teachers, Mrs.Jen Trombino, is attending the national conference of the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) being held this weekend in New York City.  Jen is presenting a workshop (Extra! Extra! Write All About It) based on her work last year with the sixth graders entry to the “Fun Pages” of the Boston Sunday Globe.  The students’ entry on Internet Safety appeared in the January 7th issue.  This year, Mrs. Trombino and our current sixth graders have been asked to write the “Fun Pages” for the December 23rd edition.  Can you guess the topic?

Picture re-takes have been scheduled for Monday, Nov 19th, giving everyone enough time to decide if you wish re-takes or need to have pictures taken for the first time if the children were absent on Sept. 20th. If you are having re-takes taken please make sure the children have their original package of pictures with them the day of re-takes. If you are having first time pictures, the original form is needed, if you don’t have your original form they are available at the office.

FOOD PANTRY
: there is an ongoing collection for our food pantry during November and December. Please see last week’s memo for the specifics. Also, they have requested that we ask for gently used children’s books to distribute with the Thanksgiving and Christmas food items. Since we started collecting used books for the food pantry a couple of years ago, it has become very popular with the children who come to the pantry with their families so they would like to continue the practice. Thank you for your generosity!
