Sunday, Jan 27th, 9AM MASS Upper Church, Come help celebrate the beginning of Catholic Schools Week and the start of the 50th Anniversary Year of Saint Bridget School. A collation in the school hall will follow Mass. It would gratifying if the children would come to Mass dressed in their school uniforms.

Friday, Feb 1st will be “Celebrate the Patriots Day”. Students may wear Patriot’s shirts, hats, etc. If you don’t have Patriot’s garb, you should wear  red/white/blue shirt, hat, etc. GO PATS!!!

"3on3 Basketball Tournament" - Sunday, April 6,2008 @ Woodrow Wilson School from 1-5pm.  Registration now available - see attached or website download.  This is a fun recreational activity for our school community and will include Jr & Middle School Girls' Teams, Jr. & Middle School Boys' Teams, Women's Teams and a Men's Division.  Pools will be determined based on registrations, so register early.  Registration Fee is $40 per team (made payable to St Bridget PTO) - 3 games guaranteed (if less than 3 teams are registered for a division, the division will be cancelled and registration returned).  Registration Deadline is Friday, March 14, 2008.  Send all registrations in to Aimee Fagan - PE Department.  Direct any questions to Aimee Fagan (508-376-9199).

GIVING TREE UPDATE:  Over 75 wishes have already been purchased off the Giving Tree.  Now as spring starts to blossom around us, our tree as started to sprout new wishes/flowers.  Check out the tree inside the Main Door or go to SBS website and see a current list of outstanding wishes –sorted by teacher.  Thank you for your continued support of our Giving Tree.

In social studies the sixth graders have been studying Ancient Greece. Students will work on individual projects; Mr. Robert Ryan will present a program to them to include a Greek Phalanx in the parking lot.  Each student has created his/her own shield. They will have a Greek Feast on February 8th from noon till 2:00 in Ms. Fannon's room to culminate their unit on Ancient Greece. The students will also dress in costume so they look authentic at the feast.

February Vacation week is just around the corner and if you are looking to make plans for your kids, here is the perfect opportunity to have fun and help your community as well.  The Loring Arena Legacy Foundation is having a Skate-A-Thon on Tuesday February 19th from 12:30-10:30pm.  Raise $50 in pledges and you can skate for all 10 hours, raise $25 and get 3 hours of skating, raise $10 and you can skate one hour for free.  This event is open to all ages.  There will be exhibition skating and “themed hours” throughout the day.  You won’t want to miss this fun-filled event.  See the attached flyer for pledge sheet and registration information.  For more information or if you have questions please contact Joyce McCarthy at 508-820-9951 (joycemccarthy@rcn.com) or Jennifer Ryan at 508-872-0331 (superryans@rcn.com)

Quips from the Kitchen- Finally the winner of "Name the Kitchen" contest is..... St. Bridget's Bistro, submitted by Mary Ostrowski, and Corinne and Eileen Michaud, all winners of a free week of hot lunch!!  Look for our new banner to be hung soon! Ask your children about Giggles (grapes), Grins (apple slices), and Smiles (orange slices), all the new rage in the lunchroom.  We have children trading in cookies for them! Lastly, we are always in need of help.  Please consider being on our "on-call" list.  No experience needed, and on the job training!  Contact Erin Walsh - stbarth@rcn.com

February is Penny Month!  The
Penny Drive is back in swing for the early spring!

The Penny Drive begins on Monday, February 4th, and will be running until February 29th. As in prior years, your contributions are not limited to just pennies, you may bring in all denominations of change!  (Please do not bring in paper bills) The class that raises the most from this drive will earn a dress down day for their class!  The top 3 classes will earn a Pizza and Ice cream party in their class! We are looking for some volunteers to help pour the coins into the counting machine that Framingham Co-Op bank has allowed us to use again this year.  If you would like to volunteer, you may contact Jim Paolini at revivalbld@verizon.net  or 508-626-0081.
