The opportunities to volunteer at Saint Bridget School are endless!
The following activities, socials, fund-raisers, and services need a host of people to be successful. Please read over the descriptions and get involved by contacting either the chairperson, a PTO board member or filling out the enclosed sign-up sheet.
The time you spend volunteering at Saint Bridget School is priceless and appreciated more than you will ever know!
Basketball 3 on 3 Tournament – Aimee Fagan, 508-376-9199
- Kids and parents compete in a fun-filled Tournament. This is a new activity for our school and is still in the planning stages.
Birthday Book Club – Mrs. Buckley, school librarian
- Donate new or gently used books to the library to commemorate your child's special day.
Blood Drive – Shauna Downey – 508-875-5208
- What Type are you? This bi-annual event will take place October 10th and again in the spring, the date TBD. Volunteers are needed to schedule donors, check in donors, "baby-sit" young children the day of the event, and, of course, give blood.
Book Fair – Karen Ostrowski - 508-881-1302 and Kathy Schwab - 508-429-5188
- Volunteers will be needed to assist student picking out appropriate books and staying within the budget set by their parents. Coordinators will also need help setting up and breaking down the Bi-annual Book Fair.
Christmas Craft Fair – Val Palmieri – 508-877-9604
- Do you have a home based sales business? Are you crafty? Do you knit or sew? Purchase a table at our second annual Christmas Craft Fair and sell your wears. Committee will be needed to help set-up work the day of the event and clean-up.
Comedy Night – John Kirwan – 508-881-3605
- Wipe the winter blues away with one of the funniest evenings you'll ever have! Committee will assist the chairperson with set-up and break-down the night of the event, shopping for paper goods and appetizers, printing and distribution of tickets.
Enrichment Committee – Vice President: Melinda Palmer – 508-881-5519
- Assist research and booking of educational and spiritual programs under the direction of the Principal and teachers.
Family Fun Outing – Linda Generazio – 508-877-7715 and Natasha Ashe 508-877-4125
- Join us at this spring time, outdoor family favorite. Games, food, pony rides, and quality family time is the order of the day. Volunteers are needed to assist in booking events, suggesting new ideas and helping set up/break down the day of the event.
Father/Son Night – Bob Ryan – 508-872-0331
- This is the first for this event, but it is sure to be great fun. It will be a night of pizza and a movie or maybe a ball game! Looking for committee members to help plan the venue for this long over due event.
Field Day – Aimee Fagan – 508-376-9199
- Let's hope for a beautiful spring day so the children will enjoy competitive, physical fitness in the form of fun field games. We need many volunteers at Bowditch Field the day of the event.
Giving Tree – Kellianne Erath – 508-879-8363
- Located right inside the front door of the school is a Giving Tree. Teachers add leaves with wishes for materials they need in their classrooms. You pick a leaf and pay for the item desired. The chairs will purchase the item for you!
Golf Tournament – Andrew MacIsaac – 508-405-4374
- A spring time favorite is also one of the most profitable fund raisers for Saint Bridget School. Chairperson will need help soliciting donations for Silent Auction, sponsors and, of course, GOLFERS!
Grocery Store Gift Card Program – Linda Generazio – 508-877-7715
- Do you shop at Stop & Shop, Roche Bros./Sudbury Farms or Shaws? Consider purchasing store gift cards for your weekly shopping and the school will receive 5% for each gift card purchased. This costs you nothing extra, yet consistently nets a hefty profit for the school.
Halloween Party – Lois Denman – 508-788-8005
- The Halloween party is THE social event of the year for grades K1-5! Volunteers are need to set-up, clean-up and assistance with the fun and games the night of the party. This is also a great opportunity for older students with volunteer hours to fulfill.
"Fall Fling" and Live Auction – Mairi Scamby – 508-309-3420
- Last year's event was an enormous success thanks to the generous donations of our school and parish families and the surrounding community. Dress up and enjoy an evening out just for adults! Cocktails and carving stations set the back drop for our silent auction and then the main event will commence – a LIVE auction. Committee is needed to solicit donations for auction and help the night of the event.
Ice Cream Social - Michelle Pekkarinen – 508-881-2386
- The children are treated to an old fashioned ice cream social, during their lunch period, to cap off Catholic School's week. Committee will be needed to set-up, clean-up, and scoop ice cream.
Innesbrook School Supplies – Chairperson needed
- Orders are taken in the spring for the following year's school supplies. Committee will help chairperson place orders and, upon arrival of supplies in the summer, sort supplies at the school for the students on visiting day.
Innesbrook Wrapping Paper Sale – Clare Dykeman - 508-620-1348 and Helena Siciliano - 508-877-7902
- This fall fundraiser has consistently provided PTO with its start up costs. Help your student sell wrapping paper to friends, neighbors and family members. Committee will assist in the order process and sorting shipment when it arrives.
Kid's BINGO – Michelle Smith – 508-628-9766
- New to the school! The children will enjoy an evening of playing this fun game and the thrill of shouting out "BINGO"! The chairperson will need many hands to help shop for treats, set-up, assist in the game, and clean-up.
Ladies BUNKO Night – Patricia Ryan – 508-309-3942
- Instead of our regularly scheduled PTO meeting in December, we have decided to treat the ladies a fun night of playing BUNKO! Take the night off from Christmas shopping. Who knows? You may be awarded first, second, third or BUNKO Queen prizes! Committee will be needed to shop for prizes, treats and drinks, paper goods, set up and clean up the night of the event.
Lunch Supply & Monitor Coordinator - Erin Walsh – 508-872-7868
- Chairperson coordinates ordering school lunches under the advisement of lunch room chairs. Chairperson will need assistance "checking in" order and stocking the store room when the weekly order arrives. Aides are needed in the lunch room every day (even when hot lunch is not served) to assist the children with their lunches and clean off tables for the next lunch. Hours are 10:50 – 12:30.

- Volunteers are needed weekly or bi-weekly to accept delivery of sandwiches, set up and serve, and debit lunch cards. Hours are 10:45 – 12:30.
Lunch – Tuesday, Hot Dogs – Gail Monique – 508-872-3872
- Volunteers are needed weekly or bi-weekly to cook hot dogs, set up desserts and sides, serve, collect money and debit lunch cards, and clean-up,. Hours are 10:30 – 12:30.
Lunch – Wednesday, Chicken Nuggets - Jennifer Curran – 508-875-4538 and Lisa Osborne – 508-788-1567
- Volunteers are needed weekly or bi-weekly to cook chicken nuggets, set up desserts and sides, collect money and debit lunch cards, serve and clean-up. Hours are 10:30 – 12:30.
Lunch – Thursday, Pasta – Barbara Riley – 508-879-9423
- MANY volunteers are needed weekly or bi-weekly to cook pasta, set up desserts and sides, collect money and debit lunch cards, serve and clean-up. Because this is a huge endeavor requiring lots of volunteers, a split schedule has been set up:
- 1st shift 10:00 -12:15, cooking, set-up and serving,
- 2nd shift is 11:00 – 12:45, serving and clean up.

- Volunteers are needed to accept delivery of pizza, set-up desserts, collect money and debit lunch cards, and clean-up. Hours are: 10:45-12:30.
Mother's Day Jewelry Sale – Melinda Palmer – 508-881-5519
- New to the school! We will hold a special spring fundraiser from Innesbrook featuring beautiful gifts for Mom. Chairperson will need assistance accepting orders and sorting/distributing orders upon delivery.
Mother/Daughter Brunch – Patricia Ryan – 508-309-3942
- Spring time will be the theme of a lovely brunch with your daughter. Chairperson will need help coordinating food, beverages, set-up the morning of the event and clean-up.
Papa Gino's Night – Brenda Iannarilli – 508-877-6802
- Enjoy a night off from cooking! Once a month, a portion of the proceeds from take-out and inside dining at Papa Ginos will be donated to Saint Bridget School. Look for notices in the school memo.
Penny Drive – Jim Paolini – 508-626-0081
- February is Pennies from Heaven month! Save your change and help the children raise money for recess equipment and a 10% tithe to a worthy cause of the student council's choosing. Committee will help pick up the change containers, count pennies and reward the classrooms that collected the most money.
Room Parents – Val Palmieri – 508-881-5519
- Room parents are vital assisting teachers with special events in the classroom. This is a great position for working and stay at home parents alike. Chairperson will act as liaison between the administration and room parents on school wide events. Room parents usually assist the Chairperson with the Christmas and Year-end Bonus process.
Santa's Secret Shop – Marybeth Budra – 508-881-6536
- It's the most, wonderful time of the year! This is by far the sweetest event as you help the students learn the meaning of giving instead of receiving. Committee will help set up the shop in the library, help the children purchase modest gifts for their family, assist in check-out and breakdown at the end of the sale.
Shaw's Grocery Receipt Program – Linda Generazio – 508-877-7715
- Do you shop at Shaws? Save your receipts and send them into school or drop them in the box at the front desk. We will return them to Shaw's and they will give 1% of your purchases back to the school!
Square One Art – Michelle Smith – 508-628-9766
- Back by popular demand! Students design their own artwork which will be featured on quality products for purchase. This fundraiser makes great Christmas gifts and a nice profit to benefit the art department. Coordinator will need assistance calculating orders and distributing orders upon arrival from the company.
Teacher Appreciation Lunches – Brenda Iannarilli – 508-877-6802
- Coordinator will need donations of food, and money to host a beautiful luncheon befitting our great teachers and staff. Help will also be needed in setting up and breaking down the events.
Used Uniform Closet and Sale – Liz Pappas – 508-788-6955
- Help coordinator keep the used uniform closet neat and organized. Assist coordinator in bi-annual sales events to clear the closet of inventory. Proceeds from the sale of used uniforms are donated to the HAS (help a student) Fund.
Welcoming Committee – Chairperson Needed
- Committee will assist chair to help new families feel comfortable with the school, its policies and procedures. Some events are: a wine and cheese reception for new parents, an ice cream social for new students and their parents, and willingness to be a "buddy" family available to new parents and their many questions. On occasion, the committee is asked to provide treats and drinks to social events held at the school. Duties include, shopping for food, set-up and clean-up.
