Emergency Dismissal
Information & Procedures for Emergency School Closing and Emergency Dismissal
Emergency School Closing During Inclement Weather And How It Is Determined:
St. Bridget School follows the Framingham Public School closing or delay schedule during inclement weather. The Public School Superintendent and Director of Transportation listen to the forecast, contact the local police and test the road conditions on our bus routes at 4:00 a.m. to determine if schools will be closed or delayed. Some roads may seem clear, however, there may be some dangerous conditions in other parts of the district. There are also other factors to consider whether or not school will be closed such as: when the storm started, building and parking lot conditions (power or heat), and temperature. The Superintendent then needs to make the decision by 5:30 a.m. so that he can notify the local radio and TV stations.
Therefore, when weather reports indicate bad weather and driving conditions are becoming hazardous, please listen to the following for cancellations for the Town of Framingham’s Public School System:

Emergency Dismissal Procedures:
- The Dept. of Transportation reserves the right to send the busses early for dismissal in the event of inclement weather or other emergency. When time permits parents will be notified via the room parent telephone chain. Therefore, contingency plans should be in place as to where the children should go upon being let off the bus before the usual time if we are unable to contact parents.
- If we must dismiss students early for any other unexpected reason, such as power loss, and BUSES ARE NOT available, your child’s room mother WILL contact you.
In any event, PLEASE BE PREPARED AND REVIEW with your child, friends, and neighbors:
A) Who would be there to meet your child at the bus stop if there was an early dismissal and you are not at home?
Or
B) Who would be picking up your child if the school has to close and there are no buses available?
Please be aware that Extended Day is CLOSED on Emergency Dismissal Days!
