Goals Of The Visual Arts Program
- Students will learn the elements of visual arts including value, color, shape, form, line, space and texture.
- Students will be introduced to the principles in the visual arts which include contrast rhythm, unity, emphasis, pattern, movement, and balance.
- Students will develop an understanding of composition through different types of media.
- Students will develop a knowledge and appreciation of art history and various art theories.
Topics and Skills Taught at Kindergarten Level
- Students will develop cutting, pasting and color identification skills.
- Students will be able to follow directions through a multiple task project.
- Students will develop an understanding of following design of composition.

- Students will develop and focus on drawing and sketching skills.
- Students will develop an understanding of the principles and elements of design in visual art.
- Students will be introduced to the fundamentals of art history and art appreciation.
