About Saint Bridget School
The Saint Bridget School Family
|
Saint Bridget School is much more than a school. We are a community of families, staff, and administrators, with similar Christian traditions and values. We are dedicated to providing a complete, well rounded education for our children. |
|
The sense of community and family pervades life at Saint Bridget School. This is truly an environment where families know one another and care deeply about the school and the children’s complete education. Families and students experience the curriculum together, and benefit from one of the most competitive academic environments in the Metrowest area.
The Saint Bridget School History – Celebrating 50 Years in 2008

Saint Bridget School's founding dates back to 1956 when plans were introduced for the establishment of a parish parochial elementary school. The school was completed and formally dedicated on September 14, 1958 by the then Most Reverend Richard J. Cushing D.D., Archbishop of Boston. |
The school was originally staffed by the Sisters of Saint Joseph of the Archdiocese of Boston from the opening of the school until the end of the 1973-1974 school year, when the Sisters of Saint Joseph were recalled by the order. Through the support of many parishioners and three Sisters of Saint Joseph who chose to stay, the school remained open and served hundreds of students.
Today, the school is entirely staffed by lay administration and faculty. Over the years, Saint Bridget School has expanded to serve the students of many of the surrounding towns such as Ashland, Holliston, Hopkinton, Natick, Southborough and Sudbury.
Since August of 2001, Mrs. Roseanne Mungovan has been the Principal at Saint Bridget School. Since Mrs. Mungovan became the Principal, new reading, writing and religion curricula have been introduced in the school's continuing efforts to maintain a vibrant academic environment. Saint Bridget School is blessed with a rich history. The school's most unique attribute is the strong commitment to the school from the parish community, Monsignor Strahan our Pastor, the parents and over 3,000 alumni. We look forward to celebrating our 50th anniversary in 2008 and look to the future with anticipation and hope. |
